Traffic cop dies after hit by truck

Qazigund, Sep 19: A Traffic Police Head Constable was killed after being hit by a truck in Qazigund area of Kulgam district on Saturday morning, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the traffic police officer was struck by a truck bearing registration number JK03Q-9011 near Shampora Bridge in Qazigund here in the morning.

He said the speeding truck lost control and left the officer seriously injured, who later died on the spot.

The traffic officer was later identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, son of Abdul Sabir Bhat, a resident of Kulpora.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and further details are awaited. (KNO)
