SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: Social Welfare Departmen, SANKALP-HEW Srinagar, organised a vocational training programme at Gandhi Memorial College, Shamswari, Srinagar, with the objective of sensitising and empowering students about various career opportunities, skill development avenues and employment prospects.
Resource person from the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Srinagar, participated in the programme and interacted with the students.
During the programme, the resource persons provided valuable information regarding vocational education, skill development, entrepreneurship, self-employment opportunities and various avenues available to young people for building sustainable careers. The students were also sensitised about the importance of acquiring market-oriented skills and making informed career choices.
The interactive session provided an opportunity for the students to seek information and clarification regarding different training programmes, employment opportunities and entrepreneurship-related initiatives.
The Department reiterated its commitment towards creating awareness among students and youth about skill development and livelihood opportunities, thereby facilitating their socio-economic empowerment.
