SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 26: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone Saturday convened a meeting of district officers at the Mini-Secretariat Shopian to review preparations for the upcoming Kisan Mela.
During the meeting, the ADDC took a detailed review of the arrangements and activities planned for the event and stressed upon all concerned departments to work in close coordination for its successful conduct.
He directed the officers to ensure effective participation of farmers, adequate arrangements at the venue and proper dissemination of information regarding various schemes, technologies and farmer-oriented initiatives.
The ADDC underscored the importance of the Kisan Mela in providing farmers with a platform to interact with experts, access information on modern agricultural practices and to learn about various government schemes and support programmes. He called for concerted efforts and meticulous planning by all stakeholders to make the Kisan Mela informative, beneficial and successful for the farming community of the district.
The ADDC also directed all district officers to undertake extensive mass awareness among farmers to ensure greater participation in the event and encourage the farming community to adopt and derive benefits from the latest technologies in agriculture.
The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer, Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, CHO, Muneer Ahmed, CAHO, Gh Mohiuddin, District Manager, NRLM and other concerned district officers and officials.
