Srinagar, Oct 16: Senior Superintendent of Polcie (SSP) Traffic Srinagar City Bisma Qazi on Friday urged people to plan their journeys in advance for Sunday, October 18, in view of the ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ cycling event.

Sharing details of the traffic restrictions, SSP Bisma Qazi said restrictions would be imposed on several roads in Srinagar from 5 am to ensure the safety of cyclists and smooth traffic movement.

She said the cycling event would begin at Lalit Ghat and proceed towards Nagbal via Shalimar and Harwan, with restrictions on the Lalit Ghat–Harwan and Lalit Ghat–Pandesh routes.

“Motorists travelling from Harwan should use the Burzahom, Chandpora, Telbal, Zakura, Malbagh, Ellahibagh and 90 Feet Road routes. Those coming from Ganderbal and Nagbal should also use 90 Feet Road,” Qazi said.

The SSP said restrictions would also be imposed at Badiyari Chowk, Nishat, Dal Gate and adjoining roads. Parking arrangements have been designated for the Golf Course, Barista, Zabarwan Park and Nehru Park up to Lalit Crossing.

“Traffic for medical emergencies and passengers travelling to Srinagar Airport will be facilitated via the Dargah-Khanyar route. People can contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103 for assistance,” Qazi said, urging commuters to cooperate with traffic personnel.

The ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ event aims to promote cycling and showcase Srinagar’s scenic surroundings. Commuters have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel on affected roads during the event—(KNO)
