UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 17: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Ananth Dwivedi, Saturday convened a meeting with officers of the concerned departments to review traffic management issues in Udhampur town and discuss measures to ensure smooth traffic flow and ease congestion.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, ARTO Mudassir Iqbal and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on key traffic-related issues, including the proposed one-way traffic movement from Slathia Chowk to Gole Market, relocation of reharies, regulation of vehicle halting time, entry of goods vehicles, streamlining of bus operations for Ramnagar and adjoining areas, identification of suitable land for parking accidental and abandoned vehicles, creation of temporary parking spaces and improvement of overall traffic management.

The DC directed the Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council to ensure proper marking of designated parking spaces across the town and arrange for garbage lifting early in the morning to prevent inconvenience to commuters and the general public. He stressed the need for effective enforcement measures to decongest roads, prevent traffic violations and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

The ARTO and traffic police were directed to identify designated stopping points for vehicles to ensure orderly movement and prevent unnecessary halting on busy roads.

The CEO Municipal Council was further instructed to take necessary measures for relocating reharies operating in congested areas to facilitate the free movement of traffic and pedestrians.
