Inaugurates newly constructed administrative block at Women’s College Srinagar

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 28: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, Wednesday, inaugurated the newly constructed Administrative Block at Government Women’s College, M.A. Road, here, marking a significant step towards strengthening the institutional infrastructure of the prestigious women’s educational institution.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister, as per an official statement, underscored the importance of strengthening educational infrastructure alongside academic excellence, stating that a well-equipped institutional environment is essential for the effective delivery of education and the overall development of students.

“Government’s endeavour is to ensure that educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir have the necessary infrastructure and facilities to provide quality education in a conducive and student-friendly environment. Strengthening the infrastructure of colleges is not merely about creating physical assets; it is about improving the overall academic ecosystem and enabling our institutions to function more effectively”, the Minister said.

The Minister observed that women’s education holds a pivotal place in the government’s vision of an inclusive and progressive society, emphasising that educational institutions must provide young women with opportunities to excel academically, develop their potential and prepare themselves for greater responsibilities in society.

“Empowering women through quality education remains one of our foremost priorities. Our colleges must serve as centres of learning, confidence-building and excellence, where young women are equipped with the knowledge, skills and opportunities required to shape their future and contribute meaningfully to society”, she remarked.

The Minister further stressed the need for educational institutions to focus on continuous improvement in infrastructure, administrative efficiency and the quality of academic services. Reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthening the higher education sector, the Minister highlighted that concerted efforts are being made to improve institutional facilities and create an enabling environment that supports academic growth, innovation and the holistic development of students.

The Minister expressed hope that the newly inaugurated facility would contribute to more efficient administrative operations and further strengthen the academic and institutional environment at this prestigious institution.
