Srinagar, Oct 28: Traffic Police Srinagar on Wednesday announced traffic restrictions and diversions on Boulevard Road and adjoining routes on Thursday in view of the J&K Police Cycle Race-2026, titled ‘Pedal Through Paradise’.

In an advisory, the race will be held from Lalit Ghat towards Nagbal Chowk via Foreshore Road and from Lalit Ghat to Harwan via Shalimar.

The advisory states that Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat towards Harwan and the route from Lalit Ghat to Pandach via Zakoora will remain closed to general traffic from 7 am until the conclusion of the event.

Motorists travelling from Harwan and New Theed have been advised to use the Burzahama–Chandpora–Tailbal–Zakoora–Malbagh–Illahibagh–90 Feet Road route. Those travelling from Ganderbal and Nagbal towards Lal Chowk have been advised to use the 90 Feet Soura Road.

Traffic movement will also remain restricted from R.M. Bagh Crossing towards Lalit, except for race participants, and from Badyari towards Lalit Crossing. Movement from Dalgate to Nishat via Badyari and from Nishat towards Lal Chowk will also not be permitted. The advisory urges people to avoid unnecessary movement along the affected routes, particularly from 5 am until the conclusion of the race.

Vehicles carrying patients in medical emergencies and those travelling to Srinagar Airport will be allowed via the Foreshore–Dargah–Khanyar route.

Parking facilities have been designated at Golf Course, Barista, Zabarwan Park and Nehru Park up to Lalit Crossing.

Commuters can contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103 for assistance. Traffic Police has urged motorists and the general public to cooperate with the arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event—(KNO)
