Srinagar, Oct 31: Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to protect national unity, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar on Saturday said Jammu and Kashmir Police are ready to face challenges in safeguarding the integrity of the country.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations at historic Lal Chowk here, IGP Kumar said, “The Prime Minister has given us a task to save the unity and integrity of the country. We are ready to face any challenges in the coming days.”

Pertinently, Ekta Diwas parade, was telecast live from Kevadia, Gujarat. LG Sinha, top officers of J&K Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), youth and schoolchildren witnessed the live celebrations. They also listened to the Prime Minister’s address to the nation.

Referring to emerging challenges, the IGP described cybercrime as one of the biggest challenges. “Alongside cybercrime, J&K Police are examining activities being carried out against the country from a new perspective,” he added—(KNO)
