Budgam, Nov 11: Member of Parliament from Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, on Tuesday, skipped voting in the by-elections for the Budgam Assembly segment.

Ruhullah, who decided to stay away from campaigning for the National Conference (NC) candidate Aga Mehmood in the by-elections, is presently in Germany.

A Facebook page in the name of Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi shared a couple of pictures of the incumbent parliamentarian meeting top German officials during his visit to Germany.

His visit to Germany comes at a time when his home constituency is undergoing by-elections today. The seat fell vacant after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who won from two seats in the 20224 elections, decided to retain the Ganderbal seat.

Showing differences with the party, Ruhullah had clearly refused to campaign for the party candidate. However, he had stated that he would vote on polling day but wouldn’t campaign for anyone—(KNO)
