Srinagar, Nov 27: Chief Minister’s Advisor and senior National Conference (NC) leader, Nasir Aslam Wani on Thursday said that Member Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi was ‘not invited’ to the ongoing Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the party in Srinagar.

Talking to reporters after the day one of the meeting, Wani said the two-day working committee session was still underway, with deliberations continuing on several key issues and resolutions expected to be framed after discussions conclude.

“It is too early to say anything right now. The working committee session is still going on for two days and discussions are in progress. We have a large number of members and so far, around 19–20 members have spoken,” Wani said adding the session will continue tomorrow as well, after which resolutions will be framed,” he said.

Asked whether Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi was invited to the meeting, Wani replied briefly, “No, he was not invited.”

MLA Hazratbal, Salman Sagar said the meeting will strengthen both the party as well as government. “The Chief Minister sought firsthand feedback from MLAs and assured that all the issues would be addressed. The idea is to ensure better coordination between the party and the people so that people at the grassroots level ultimately are benefited. This meeting will strengthen both the party and governance structure,” he said—(KNO)
