Issues directions for strengthening surveillance

DODA, NOVEMBER 29: District Magistrate Doda Harvinder Singh, along with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Kumar Mehta, Saturday chaired a meeting to review the overall law and order situation in the district.

The meeting, as per an official statement focused on strengthening security preparedness, enhancing surveillance and improving coordination between civil and police administration.

The DM issued strict directions to all SDMs, Tehsildars and Police Officers to intensify verification, monitoring and enforcement activities across their respective jurisdictions.

Key areas reviewed included verification of tenants and labourers, monitoring of hotels and guest houses, strengthening CCTV surveillance, securing critical installations, improving VDG preparedness and monitoring cybercrime, rumor-mongering and misinformation. Directions were also issued for strict action against illegal bovine smuggling, illegal mining, and timber smuggling.

The DM further instructed officers to ensure proper functioning of Women Help Desks, improve traffic regulation, enhance night patrolling, strengthen naka points, and maintain close coordination with local community representatives for effective information flow.

The SSP stressed technology-enabled policing, increased patrolling and heightened vigilance at checkpoints to ensure timely preventive action.

The meeting was attended by SDMs, ACR, Dy. SPs and other ADCs, SDMs, Tehsildars and officers from the civil and police administration through virtual mode.
