ANANTNAG, DECEMBER 01: Motor Vehicles Department in collaboration with traffic authorities Anantnag and a certified consultant carried out a comprehensive awareness drive on safe driving practices along various stretches of National Highway-44.
The special initiative, as per an official statement issued on Monday, aimed to educate drivers, transport operators and commuters about crucial road safety measures and importance of Fire Extinguishers.
During the drive, the team interacted with a large number of vehicle owners and briefed them about safe driving practices, adherence to traffic rules besides dangers of over speeding, and need for regular vehicle maintenance.
The fire extinguisher consultant demonstrated effective methods to handle emergency situations, particularly fire incidents in vehicles, and highlighted the importance of keeping functional extinguishers on board.
Briefing about the drive, the officials said such awareness campaigns help in reducing accidents and ensuring safer movement on busy routes like NH-44.
Vehicle owners and locals appreciated the initiative and requested the authorities to conduct such drives regularly.
