Three-storey house guts in Habba Kadal blaze

Srinagar, Dec 01: A fire incident damaged a three-storey residential house in Srinagar’s Habba Kadal area on Monday. In the incident, two firefighters were injured, officials said.

An official said that the department received a distress call at around 11:46 am following which fire service teams immediately rushed to the spot.

He said that the blaze was controlled with prompt response, though the structure was already engulfed when the fire emergency teams reached the spot.

He added that during the operation, two firefighters, Ajay and Manoj sustained injuries while dousing the flames. “They were immediately shifted to hospital for medical treatment.”

The official further said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and an investigation has been initiated to determine the source of ignition—(KNO)
