Digital devices, other incriminating materials seized

Srinagar, Dec 01: The National Investigation Agency on Monday carried out raids at about 8 locations in the Kashmir Valley and one location in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the Delhi blast case, officials said.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the NIA conducted raids at about 8 locations, including the houses of Moulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay, Dr Adeel, Dr Muzamil and Amir Rashid.

He said that various digital devices and other incriminating materials were seized during the searches from the premises of several accused and suspects in the two states.

“Eight locations were searched in Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama and Awantipora of J&K, and one location in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow,” he said.

They said the raids are underway in Nadigam village of Shopian, Koil, Chandgam, Malangpora, and Samboora villages of Pulwama.

“The teams searched for evidence that could be linked to the ‘white-collar’ module and the Delhi blast,” they said.

The NIA has so far arrested seven accused in connection with the Delhi blast case. At least 11 people were killed and several others injured after a high-intensity blast ripped through a car near Delhi historic Red Fort area on November 10.

Meanwhile, in a statement the NIA said it had on November 26 and 27 conducted extensive searches at the premises of the prime accused, Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganie and Dr Shaheen Saeed, in the Al Falah University complex and other places in Faridabad (Haryana).

“A huge quantity of cash, foreign currency, gold and other incriminating materials were seized during those searches, and the same are being minutely examined to unravel the conspiracy that culminated in the bombing,” it reads.

It added that the NIA teams are questioning the arrested accused while continuing to pursue various leads in connection with the November 10 blast.

“The NIA continues to work closely with various state police forces to track and arrest every member of the terrorist module involved in the bomb attack,” it said. (KNO)
