J&K’s Raj Bhavan renamed as ‘Lok Bhavan’

Jammu, Dec 02: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat has announced the renaming of the Union Territory’s Raj Bhavan to “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir”.

This building serves as the official residence and office of the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory, according to an order accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The order, signed by Principal Secretary Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari, states that the change is effective immediately.

Consequently, all references to Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir shall now be referred to as Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir.

This notification follows a communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and aligns with the directives issued by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNO)
