Shopian, Oct 04: The District Statistical Handbook 2023-24 on Saturday was released by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta during an event here.
The event was organized by the District Statistics & Evaluation Officer, Shopian which was attended by ADDC, Dr . Nasir Ahmed Lone, ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz CPO and other district officers.
The DDC appreciated the initiative of the District Statistics & Evaluation Officer and emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate and up-to-date statistical data for effective planning and monitoring of developmental activities in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Statistics & Evaluation Officer said that the handbook is a comprehensive compilation of authentic data from all major sectors, including population, health, education, agriculture, industry and rural development. She added that the publication aims to serve as a reliable reference for administrators, planners, researchers and the general public to facilitate evidence-based planning and informed decision-making.
The officer expressed her gratitude to all line departments for providing the requisite data and appreciated the efforts of her office staff for their dedication in compiling and finalizing the document.
