Budgam, December 12: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam Friday convened the first meeting of the District Monitoring Committee under the guidance of Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairman DLSA Budgam, O. P. Bhagat.
The meeting ,as per an official statement, was convened by,Secretary DLSA Budgam, Tabassum Qadir Parray at the ADR Centre, District Court Complex, in compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India issued in WP (Crl) No. 295/2012 titled S. Rajaseekaran vs Union of India & Ors.
The meeting was attended by Dy SP DAR Budgam Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Budgam Afroza Bano, as the Claim Enquiry Officer/Member of the Committee.
During the meeting, the Committee reviewed the framework laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, discussed the district-level mechanism for processing claims, and examined the preliminary status of cases requiring action.
The deliberations focused on establishing coordinated procedures among concerned departments, ensuring timely verification and documentation, and enhancing facilitation mechanisms for victims to streamline claim submission and processing.
The meeting concluded with key decisions aimed at strengthening the monitoring structure within the district, minimizing procedural delays, and ensuring strict adherence to the mandate issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
