Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah express grief over demise of Shivraj Patil

Srinagar, 13 Dec: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Dr Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of former Union Minister, former Speaker of the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Shivraj Patil.

In his condolence message, Dr Farooq Abdullah said, “Shivraj Patil ji was a seasoned statesman and a committed public servant who made significant contributions to the nation during his long political career. His demise is a great loss to the country and to the democratic ethos he always stood for. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as per a statement issued on Saturday, also expressed his condolences, saying, “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of Shivraj Patil ji . He was a respected leader known for his integrity, wisdom, and dedication to public life. His contributions as a Union Minister and his role in strengthening democratic institutions will be remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with his bereaved family during this difficult time.”

The duo prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
