Srinagar, Dec 18: Jammu and Kashmir’s pace sensation Auqib Nabi Dar has expressed joy and thrill over being acquired by Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2026 season, following a record-breaking auction bid.

In a video message shared by Delhi Capitals, Jammu & Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi Dar said, “I am thrilled to be part of the Delhi Capitals squad.”

Auqib thanked his fans back home and the Delhi Capitals management for reposing trust in him. “I can’t wait to play alongside stars like KL Y and Mitchell Starc”, he said.

Pertinently, the J&K cricketer entered the IPL 2026 mini-auction in Abu Dhabi with a base price of Rs 30 lakh but sparked a fierce bidding war among Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, ultimately fetching Rs 8.40 crore—28 times his base price and the highest for any J&K player in the IPL history.

The landmark deal marks a historic moment for J&K cricket, with the 28-year-old emerging as one of the top uncapped buys—(KNO)
