PULWAMA, OCTOBER 07: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat
Qayoom, Tuesday chaired a meeting here at administrative complex
Pulwama to review and discuss the formulation of a GIS-based Master
Plan for Awantipora Town.
The meeting aimed to take forward the vision of planned and
sustainable urban development in the town through advanced and modern
tools & technology and coordinated inter-departmental inputs.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the proposed
villages to be included within the Master Plan, municipal boundaries
of Awantipora, and the revenue villages associated with Tehsil
Awantipora.
The DC directed all departments to provide updated records, maps, and
data sets to facilitate the preparation of a comprehensive GIS-based
plan in coordination with the Town Planning Organisation and SPA
experts. He stressed that the Master Plan should incorporate local
requirements, natural features, and heritage aspects while maintaining
environmental sustainability.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Town Planner Kashmir;
Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama; Tehsildars of Awantipora,
Pampore and Kakapora; Executive Officer Municipal Committee
Awantipora/Pampore; Block Development Officer Pampore/Awantipora;
while representative from the School of Planning and Architecture
(SPA), New Delhi also joined the meeting virtually.
