BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 23: District Administration Bandipora Tuesday conducted an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) at Panchayat Ghar Nadihal to sensitise the public about the ill effects of drug and substance abuse.
The programme, as per an official statement, was attended by resource persons, who interacted with participants and highlighted the need for collective efforts to curb substance abuse.
Speakers emphasised prevention, early identification and community participation as key strategies in tackling addiction. Information was also shared regarding the physical, mental and social consequences of drug abuse, besides available counselling and rehabilitation support.
The programme witnessed active participation from youth and community members, who were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles and contribute towards building a drug-free and resilient society in the district.
