UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 24: Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Prem Singh Wednesday convened a meeting of officers from the line departments to review the action plan for winter preparedness.

Detailed discussions were held on key aspects, including road clearance in snow prone areas, ensuring smooth vehicular movement on the National Highway, identification of additional parking locations at Patnitop and maintaining uninterrupted connectivity during the winter season.

The ADC directed the concerned departments to activate men and machinery well in advance to avoid disruption to traffic and essential services. The JPDCL was instructed to maintain an adequate buffer stock of power transformers and wires at sub-divisional workshops to facilitate timely replacement and repairs.

Similarly, the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department was directed to ensure availability of sufficient essential items including ration and LPG both in remote areas and at sales centres. He also called for enhanced efforts to complete the stocking of essential commodities in snow-bound and remote areas.
