Srinagar, Dec 29: Director Tourism Kashmir, Syed Qamar Sajad on Monday said that with the onset of winter and fresh snowfall, tourists have begun flocking to the Valley, giving a boost to winter sports and activities, particularly in Gulmarg.

“After the snowfall, many tourists have turned up in Gulmarg. The boost to winter games and activities has already taken place, and in the coming days, we anticipate even more activity during our seven-day carnival,” Sajad told reporters at ‘Jashn-e-Wandeh’, a Prelude to New Year, at Nehru Park, Dal Lake, Srinagar.

The Director said, “Peace prevails in the Valley, and people should come to Kashmir to enjoy its serenity, natural beauty and picturesque landscapes.”

“Our message to people across the country is to come to the Valley, enjoy the peace and serenity here and take in the company of nature and the picturesque landscape of Kashmir,” he added.

Similarly, the festivities also included joy shikara rides, a floating exhibition and traditional music, aimed at promoting local livelihoods and highlighting the beauty of Dal Lake, the Director said—(KNO)
