KULGAM December 30 District Industries Center (DIC) kulgam in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) Tuesday organized an export awareness cum e-Commerce onboarding workshop for potential exporters at Auditorium Mini secretariat kulgam
Programme was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan.
Speaking on the occasion the DC, as per an official statement, highlighted importance of exports for sustained economic growth.
He further highlighted the major products from Kulgam which have potential for exports and spotlighted the importance of fine tuning and finishing of products.
He also urged participants and youth to get benefited from various government employment generation schemes and to become enter-pruners.
The DC also appreciated the organisers of the programme for conducting such important awareness programmes.
During the workshop detailed sessions on benefits of exports, credit linkages for exports and credit risk insurance facilities and potential of products of the region in international market were discussed.
The emphasis of the workshop was to boost and support exports from District Kulgam with a focus on developing the district as an export hub under the District as Export Hub/ODOP initiatives. The beneficiaries were briefed regarding the potential of their products for exports, countries to be targeted and procedures of exports.
District Officers from line departments viz Agriculture, Horticulture,Legal metrology , Horticulture and Marketing,Handloom and Handicrafts Department , KVIB, District Employment along with Traders, Farmers,FPOs,Artisans,Msme’s ,Potential Exporters dealing with ODOP and GI attended the workshop.
