SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 31: Students of International Rainbow School, Shopian Wednesday called on the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta here at Mini-Secretariat and held an interactive and meaningful discussion on academic support initiatives and career counselling.
During the interaction, the students, as per an official statement, shared their views and expectations regarding personality development, career orientation and regular counselling support to help them excel academically and emotionally.
The Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to the students and appreciated their curiosity, confidence and eagerness to learn. He assured the students that the district administration is committed to strengthening student-centric educational interventions including mentoring, counselling and outreach programmes aimed at nurturing young talent at an early stage. He encouraged the students to remain focused, disciplined and inquisitive, while making best use of available educational opportunities.
The interaction proved to be highly motivating and inspiring for the students, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to directly engage with the Deputy Commissioner and share their ideas in a supportive environment.
The DC also advised the students to refrain from smoking, drugs and other addictive substances, highlighting their serious health, social and psychological hazards. He urged the students to not only stay away from such practices themselves but also spread awareness among society about the ill-effects of drug abuse and act as ambassadors of a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
