11-year-old Pony rider goes viral

Srinagar, Jan 02: In the beautiful meadows of Pahalgam, an 11-year-old pony rider named Sarfaraz has become the talk of Kashmir and the internet.

A short video capturing the young boy’s warmth, professionalism and charm while guiding tourists has gone viral, earning him the nickname “Little Star of Pahalgam.”

In clips shared widely across Instagram and other social platforms, Sarfaraz is seen not only expertly handling his pony but also guiding tourists along the route and helping them take photographs.

In one of the viral clips, Sarfaraz can be seen confidently leading his pony through Pahalgam, engaging warmly with visitors, and assisting them with photo poses — all with an effortless smile.

“He’s a gem of a kid,” said one tourist who filmed the viral clip. “Sarfaraz didn’t just guide us, he made the whole experience joyful.”

Meanwhile, local residents and tourism operators say Sarfaraz embodies the heart of Kashmiri hospitality and grace that continues to define the Valley’s tourism culture. Many hailed him as an inspiration for the younger generation who sustain their families through honest work in the tourism sector.

“The boy may be small, but when it comes to hospitality, he’s second to none,” said Abdul Rashid, a local pony owner.

The video, now circulating widely across Instagram and other social platforms, has been reshared by travel pages and influencers, praising the innocence and authenticity that shines through—(KNO)
