Arms, ammunition recovered

Kupwara, Jan 06: Security forces on Tuesday busted a terrorist hideout in the forest area of Putshai Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.

Following the inputs, the joint forces started a cordon and search operation in the area.

During the search, forces detected and destroyed a concealed hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the spot.

The recoveries included 34 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 18 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, one pistol magazine, one Pakistan-made grenade, four Chinese grenades and one ammunition pouch, an official said.

He said a case in this regard has been registered, and further investigations have been taken up. (KNO)
