DC Srinagar reviews implementation of UIDIC/CRS, Aadhaar biometric updates

SRINAGAR JANUARY 09: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Friday reviewed the progress in implementation of Civil Registration System(CRS) and status of Mandatory Biometric Updates for Aadhaar in a meeting of stakeholder Departments held here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner, as per an official statement, was given a detailed overview of the progress on Mandatory Biometric Updates for Aadhaar, status of the Civil Registration System (CRS) with a focus on the Birth Registration-Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) initiative aimed at enrolling newborns for Aadhaar at hospitals aligning with the goal of transforming the CRS for real-time digital registration of births and deaths.

On the occasion, the DC stressed the need to ensure timely completion of mandatory biometric updates, particularly for children who have attained the ages of 5 and 15 years.

Meanwhile, the DC also reviewed the progress regarding the establishment of a Centre of Excellence-CSC in the district.

He also emphasized time-bound clearance of pending Aadhaar cases, especially those involving applicants above 100 years of age. The DC further directed all departments to create and operationalize official Gov.in email IDs.

While reviewing the progress on the establishment of the Centre of Excellence-CSC, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned departments to complete all pending requirements within the stipulated timeline to ensure that the centre becomes operational in all respect at the earliest. He assessed the current status of infrastructure and preparedness and instructed the concerned to expedite the process.

The DC further stressed the importance of effective coordination between line departments and UIDAI to ensure seamless functioning of Aadhaar centres and timely achievement of set targets in Srinagar district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed; Jiont Commisioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid; SP headquarter, Umar Shah; Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; Programme Officer ICDS, Bureeda Majeed, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, SDM East, Zubair Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar; District Statistics & Evaluation Officer, Shah Ismail Bangroo; all Tehsildars, All BDOs, Deputy CEO, District Informatics Officer, State Project Manager, Srinagar from UIDAI, District Lead Bank Manager, District Coordinator CSC E-Governance and other concerned.
