Srinagar, Jan 10: Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma on Saturday reviewed security measures and the counter-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir.
During the review, Sharma was briefed on counter-infiltration measures undertaken in hinterland areas to dominate the operational space, the Northern Command said in a post on X.
It said the Army commander emphasised the importance of a strong intelligence grid and close coordination with other security agencies for effective and timely response to emerging threats.
“He also visited the High Altitude Warfare School, Gulmarg, where he reviewed training activities with a particular focus on skill enhancement through incorporation of technology and innovation,” the Northern Command said.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen Sharma also visited the Army Aviation Squadrons operating in Kashmir Valley. “These units are the backbone for the active formations in responding to emergency situations and provide logistics support to the troops deployed in inaccessible places,” the Army said.
It said the Army commander also awarded the Northern Command Annual Flight Safety Trophy to two frontline aviation squadrons, recognising their professionalism and dedication.
