Kashmir records 83% pass percentage, 87% in Jammu

Srinagar, Jan 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Wednesday announced annual regular results of 12th standard with at least 84 percent qualifying the exams.

JKBOSE officials informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 84 percent students qualify the exams.

The board official also said that the pass percentage of girls is 86 percent and 82 percent among the male students.

JKBOSE earlier in the morning has announced that 85 percent of students have qualified the annual regular exams of 10th standard.

BOSE said that a total of 70,735 candidates were enrolled for the exams out of which 59,435 successfully qualified it.

In the exams, a total of 33,549 students have registered distinctions, 21,889 secured first divisions, 3963 bagged second division and 34 candidates registered third division.

BOSE further said that in the examination, 312 students couldn’t qualify the exams while 10,988 have been asked to reappear in the exams.

Pertinently, BOSE had announced syllabus relaxation of 15 percent for 10th, 11th and 12th standard examination.

Director Academics of BOSE in a notification said that the decision was taken upon the recommendations received from the DSEK and DSEJ and pleas received from other stakeholders regarding reduction in syllabus due to delayed commencement of academic session this year coupled with disruptions in academic calendar due to heat wave, torrential rains, cloudbursts and floods.

“As approved by the competent authority, it is notified that the prospective eligible students appearing in class 10th, 11th and 12th in the ensuing annual regular, 2025 examination in Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division including UT of Ladakh, shall attempt 85 percent marks which will correspond to 100 percent marks, availing thus 15 percent relaxation in syllabus,” reads the notification.
