Bukhari calls on LG, discusses current political scenario

Srinagar, Oct 06: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari called on Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha Monday at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar. They discussed the current political and security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, while Apni Party President Bukhari brought a range of pressing public issues to the notice of LG Sinha.

According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), “During the meeting, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari apprised LG Manoj Sinha of several pressing public issues and grievances, and held discussions with him on the prevailing political and security situation in Jammu and Kashmir,” the press release said.

“On this occasion, the Apni Party leader applauded the administration’s announcement of providing 5 marlas of land to flood-affected homeless and landless families, enabling them to construct their dwelling units on the allotted plots. Furthermore, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urged LG Manoj Sinha to ensure adequate compensation for those affected in the fruit industry,” the press release added.

He said that the recent natural calamity and the closure of NH-44 have inflicted huge losses on the fruit industry, and that the affected people are in desperate need of compensation from the government—(KNO)
