Inspects developmental projects in Chanpora Constituency

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 15: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary Wednesday reiterated that the present dispensation is fully committed to the overall development and welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He made these remarks during an extensive tour of Chanpora Constituency in Srinagar.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Omar Abdullah-led government is focused on ensuring equitable and sustainable development across all regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

 “People will judge this government after our five-year report card,” he asserted.

During his tour, the Deputy Chief Minister, accompanied by local legislator Mushtaq Ahmad Guroo, inspected several ongoing developmental projects in the constituency.

The projects inspected include Community Centre Hyderpora, Marriage Hall Haranbal Natipora, Bailey Bridge project at Chanpora, as well as widening of Rawalpora–Mocho Road. He also reviewed the progress on the Bund Road project from Chanpora to Natipora Junction and other ongoing works across the constituency.

While inspecting the Community Centre Hyderpora, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to submit a detailed report for early resumption of works so that the facility can be dedicated to the public at the earliest.

He also issued instructions for utility shifting and removal of bottlenecks along the Rawalpora–Mocho Road to expedite work and ensure smooth and enhanced road facility to the general public.

To enhance connectivity and mobility for residents of the Chanpora area, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to initiate work on the construction of the Bailey Bridge at the earliest.

He further instructed officers to ensure that all ongoing works, including the Bund Road, Chanpora–Natipora Junction and other road projects, are completed within the stipulated time frame.

During his visit to Bagh-e-Mehtab, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected ongoing macadamization works in Baghe Mehtab area and assured strict action against use of sub- standard material or any other negligence are reported.

During the tour, various delegations called on the Deputy Chief Minister and appreciated the Deputy CM for taking spot inspections of the ongoing works.

Among others, Chief Engineer R&B Sushil Kumar; SEs from R&B, SMC, Housing, and other senior officers from concerned departments accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister during the tour.
