BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 28: As part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 being observed from 27th October to 2nd November on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday conducted an awareness session with officers and officials of the Health Department Bandipora at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

The event was chaired by Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr. Ishtiyaq Naik, while a team from Anti-Corruption Bureau North Kashmir, led by DySP ACB Baramulla, Fayaz Ahmad, along with Inspector, Arif Gul; NT, Manzoor Ahmad, and ASI Mukhtar Ahmad, sensitized the participants on preventive vigilance and ethical conduct in public service.

The programme began with the administration of the Integrity Pledge by an officer from ACB, followed by a detailed presentation on vigilance practices, corruption prevention measures, and accountability mechanisms. The ACB team also held an interactive Question and Answer session, addressing queries and sharing practical insights.

During his address, DySP, Fayaz Ahmad highlighted the role and functioning of the ACB and emphasized the importance of individual and collective responsibility in promoting integrity and transparency. He underscored the need for strict adherence to codal formalities, financial prudence, and ethical conduct in all departmental operations.

Special focus was laid on key areas such as procurement of equipment, goods and services, observance of General Financial Rules, avoidance of post-facto approvals, and prevention of procurement at exorbitant rates.

Officers were also cautioned against prescription of specific brands for personal gains, unnecessary referrals and surgeries at private institutions, and irregularities in issuance of fitness and disability certificates or falsification of duty rosters.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ishtiyaq Naik expressed gratitude to the ACB for organizing such a thought-provoking and informative session. He remarked that, “If everybody performs their duty sincerely and with good character, corruption will automatically vanish. Integrity and honesty must become the foundation of our professional conduct.”

Among others, the event was attended by Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora, Medical Officers, Para-Medical Staff, Clerical Staff, ASHA Workers, MLHPs from various health institutions across the district and other officials of the Health Department
