DC Sgr finalizes arrangements for Prakash Diwas

SRINAGAR OCTOBER 30: In connection with celebrations of Prakash Diwas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji being celebrated on 5th November, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Thursday chaired a meeting here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the arrangements being made by all line Departments aimed to ensure smooth and seamless conduct of the celebrations marking the 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; SDM West, Irfan Bahadur; SDM East, Zubair Ahmad; ACR, Umar Gulzar; Superintendent of Police, Umar Shah; SE Hydraulics, Exen KPCL, Dy SP Traffic, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, and other senior Officers.

Members of the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee were also present in the meeting who briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the requirements for the occasion.

At the Outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of arrangements related to cleanliness & sanitation, parking & traffic management, water and power supply, medical facilities, and other necessary logistics to ensure the seamless celebration of the Prakash Diwas.

The DC emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination to ensure that all arrangements are completed well in advance. He directed the Officers of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to carry out special sanitation drives at Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi, Rainawari and other prominent Gurdwaras in the City. He further asked for taking elaborate measures to curb dog menace around the Gurdwaras.

The Traffic Police Department was asked to chalk out a comprehensive traffic management and parking plan to avoid congestion near prominent Gurdwaras, including Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi, Rainawari.

Similarly, the KPDCL and Jal Shakti Department were instructed to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply during the celebration days, while the Health Department was told to deploy medical teams with ambulances at the venue.

During the meeting, the DC issued directions to the concerned Officers to ensure that all kinds of facilities are made available on the auspicious occasion.
