PULWAMA, NOVEMBER 10: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the District Administrative Complex to assess the progress of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.

At the outset, detailed presentations were presented outlining the overall progress, achievements, and present status of the scheme in Pulwama and Awantipora Divisions. The presentations covered various aspects, including the status of vendor–consumer agreements, installed capacity, processing of bank loans for beneficiaries, and disbursement of subsidies to eligible applicants.

While reviewing the subdivision-wise progress of rooftop solar installations against allocated targets, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers and vendors to expedite the physical installation of Rooftop Solar systems. He emphasized the need to minimize the time gap between application approval and actual installation.

Reviewing the status of cases pending at various stages of bank loan sanction, Dr. Qayoom instructed KPDCL officials to work in close coordination with banking partners to simplify and fast-track the loan approval process, ensuring timely financial support to the beneficiaries. He further directed the Lead District Manager (LDM) to closely monitor the progress of loan disbursement and address bottlenecks in coordination with the concerned financial institutions.

The Deputy Commissioner also took detailed feedback from empanelled vendors regarding challenges being faced in executing pending installations and directed KPDCL to provide necessary support for early resolution of issues. He stressed the importance of active coordination among KPDCL, empanelled vendors, and banking partners to bridge the gap between applications received and installations completed.

Dr. Qayoom further called for an intensified public outreach campaign to raise awareness among citizens about the long-term benefits of the PM Surya Ghar initiative, which aims to ensure substantial savings on electricity bills while promoting the adoption of clean and renewable energy.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Executive Engineers of KPDCL Electric Divisions Pulwama and Awantipora, along with concerned Assistant Executive Engineers and empanelled vendors.
