Budgam, Nov 10: District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat Monday urged the people of Budgam Constituency to actively participate in the upcoming bye-elections, scheduled for tomorrow (November 11).

Dr Bilal said that all arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of polls. “The Government Higher Secondary School, Budgam, is a collection and distribution centre where poll parties are dispatched with EVMs. There are 173 polling stations in total,” he said.

The DEO informed that voting will begin at 7 AM and continue till 6 PM. He added that a campaign for electoral literacy has also been carried out across the district to encourage voter participation.

“All polling stations are equipped with webcasting facilities and the live feed will be monitored in our district control room,” Dr Bhat said, adding that booth awareness groups, BLOs and Anganwadi workers will be present at polling booths to assist voters.

He appealed to the residents of Budgam to turn out in large numbers and exercise their democratic right peacefully—(KNO)
