Says 89% startups into technological innovation, country emerging as leader

Jammu, Nov 10: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Monday said that India will bring a new revolution in agriculture, health, climate sector and governance through the seven pillars of AI Mission.

Addressing the annual convocation of Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai at Chhattisgarh, LG Sinha, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that around 89% startups in the country are into technological innovation. “India emerging as a leader in technology is proving to be a golden period for all graduating students,” he added.

The Lieutenant Governor said that young engineers and scientists must focus on providing new solutions to take the industries and the nation forward, convert scientific and technical principles into real tools and ensure India leads in innovation. “Our prime objective is improving the lives of people and drive economic growth through cutting-edge innovation,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor asked the graduating students to explore new ground, follow unconventional path, have courage to know the unknown to be an innovator and a pioneer.

“Where there is fearlessness, there is invention. Where there is courage, there is new scientific discovery,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor said that cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation are still in relatively early stages and we are entering a new phase of acceleration which will drive the future growth and development.

“India is a global leader in key areas of innovation and we have succeeded in creating a dynamic technology ecosystem and will lead the deep-tech ventures of the world,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted new opportunities for young engineers and science graduates.

He said that the demand for generative design and predictive maintenance professionals will increase in the future. Software engineering and development has registered a growth of more than 5% and considering the global demand, millions of professionals will be required every year. Due to climate change, the renewable energy and green technology sector has brought new opportunities. Defence technology, Aerospace, Biotechnology, automation, robotics and healthcare are other high growth areas for young professionals, he further added.

“Scientists and Engineers across the world are competing with each other to discover new frontiers of technology and making efforts to invent better, faster and more efficient technology than before. You need to create your own space in this exploration and leave a positive impact.

The Lieutenant Governor also spoke on the rich contribution of Bhilai in the nation’s industrial development. He said the IIT Bhilai must carry forward the legacy and act as a powerful force to shape the technical education landscape. (KNO)
