‘NC to emerge victorious in Budgam bye-elections’

Tangmarg, Nov 10: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar on Monday said that there was no fixed deadline for Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

He also said that the National Conference (NC) is confident of victory in Budgam bye-elections and will celebrate the win on November 14.

Speaking to reporters in Tangmarg, Dar said the party is fully prepared for polling tomorrow. “The National Conference will celebrate its win on the 14th,” he said.

Responding to allegations of unfulfilled promises in the NC manifesto, Dar said the party remains committed to its pledges. “People have given us a five-year mandate. We have repeatedly stated at every platform that our promises will be fulfilled before the tenure ends”, he said.

Dar said the overwhelming support shown to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who won from two seats, reflects the people’s trust in NC’s leadership. “We expect the same support for Aga Mehmood in Budgam,” he added.

About Panchayat elections, the Minister said there is no fixed deadline. “After completing pending procedures, the dates will be announced”, he said—(KNO)
