KUPWARA, NOVEMBER 18: District Administration Kupwara celebrated five years of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan across all subdivisions, blocks, and tehsils of the district on Tuesday.

As part of the commemoration, a series of pledge ceremonies were organized to strengthen the district-wide commitment to eliminating drug abuse and promoting a healthier, drug-free society.

The main pledge ceremony took place at the Meeting Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kupwara, presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shrikant Suse. He administered the Nasha Mukt pledge to officers and officials from various departments, reiterating the administration’s dedication to ensuring a safer and healthier future for the youth.

In his address, the DC stressed the urgent need to curb the rising challenge of drug addiction and emphasized the responsibility of every individual in promoting awareness and preventive efforts.

A similar pledge event was held at the Sub-District Handwara, where Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Javaid Naseem Masoodi, led officers and employees in reaffirming the district’s collective resolve against drug abuse.

Pledge-taking ceremonies were simultaneously conducted across all government offices and educational institutions in the district.

The widespread participation reflected strong community commitment and helped amplify the message on the detrimental effects of drugs and the importance of preventive measures.
