Pvt schools face JKBOSE action for textbook norm violation

Affiliation of four schools cancelled, eight penalized

Srinagar, Nov 19: The Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) Wednesday said that is cancelling the affiliation of four private schools and has fined several private schools for violating prescribed textbook norms.

Addressing a press conference here at Srinagar board headquarters, Joint Secretary BOSE Shahnaz Choudhary as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “We have our teams and sub-offices in every district who are dealing and taking care of these matters.”

“They have inspected the schools and whosoever private school was found violating the government norms by prescribing the private publication of books were fined,” she said.

Choudhary added that “We have cancelled the affiliation of four schools that were violating the prescribed norms.”

“Besides, the inspection team of JKBOSE have fined at least eight schools for violating textbook guidelines of the board,” she said.

The JKBOSE Joint Secretary also said that the private schools affiliated with JKBOSE have to abide by the norms of the board under the SRO-123.

“The books JKBOSE have a nominal charges while the books recommended by the private schools through a private publishers are very costly,” she said. (KNO)
