Conducts extensive tour of Khanyar, Hazratbal areas

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 26: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, Wednesday said that the government is fulfilling its promises while ensuring completion of all undertaken and long-pending projects across Jammu and Kashmir.

He made these remarks during an extensive tour of Khanyar and Hazratbal areas of Srinagar, undertaken to assess progress on various ongoing developmental works.

The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Hazratbal, Salman Sagar.

During the on-spot inspections, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “The government will keep all its promises and ensure speedy completion of all ongoing as well as long-pending projects across Jammu and Kashmir.”

Throughout the visit to interior areas of Khanyar and  Hazratbal, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the status of several key road-widening and public infrastructure projects. These included Koolipora–Khanyar Road Widening Project, Government Degree College for Women Zakura (Hazratbal), Malabagh Road Widening Project, Ellahi Bagh Chowk near Gagroo Store and Omar Haer–Dagapora Road Widening Project in Hazratbal area.

The concerned departments were directed  to expedite all ongoing works, ensure timely completion while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Emphasizing the importance of these initiatives, he said that enhanced road connectivity will improve mobility, reduce bottlenecks and strengthen public infrastructure in Hazratbal and adjoining areas.

At Koolipora Khanyar, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed  the upgradation and widening of internal link roads, which are critical for decongesting traffic and improving access to residential and commercial areas. He instructed the executing agencies to prioritize completion of blacktopping and drainage works to prevent waterlogging during rains.

The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the widening works will significantly improve the vehicular movement, enhance inter-district connectivity and eliminate traffic bottlenecks, ensuring hassle-free travel along the Umer-Haer–Gadoora Road.

He instructed the authorities to expedite land acquisition and ensure the project is completed at the earliest.

Senior officers from R&B, SMC, PHE, PMGSY, Employment, Labour, DIC, and other line departments accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister during the inspections and briefed him on the current status of each project.
