KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 04: A group of members of Women Self Help Groups on Thursday set out for a one day intra-state training programme sponsored by the Department of Agriculture under HADP Project No. 10.

Designed as a capacity-building initiative, the training aims to enhance the skills of women SHG members, introduce them to sustainable income-generation practices and promote mushroom farming as a profitable and scalable agricultural venture in the district.

Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Sharma flagged off the group of SHG members. He advised the visiting women to take full advantage of the training as such initiatives have been aptly designed to boost self-reliance and improve socio-economic status of rural women.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Kushal Chandel highlighted the high market demand, minimal investment needs and year-round feasibility of mushroom cultivation. He urged participants to learn the scientific cultivation practices, while assuring full technical support from the department.

Women SHG members expressed their appreciation for the opportunity, noting that the training will significantly contribute to their skill enhancement and livelihood improvement.

The program was attended by SMS-DL Vikas Koushal; SDO Manzoor Ahmed Zarger; SDAO Padder Dheeraj Singh and SMS-SDL K.K. Koul besides other concerned Staff.
