Says file received by Lok Bhavan on Dec 2 pertains to age relaxation only

Srinagar, Dec 06: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday clarified that online posts about Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) examination are misleading, and that the file received by Lok Bhavan on December 2 pertained only to age relaxation.

In a post on X, the Lt Governor, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the Lok Bhavan returned the file the same day with a query whether it is logistically possible to conduct exam on December 7 by incorporating modifications in eligibility criteria at such a belated stage.

“Social media posts with regard to JKPSC exam are misleading. Lok Bhavan had received the file on 2nd Dec, 2025 which was categorically related to age relaxation only. File was returned the same day, 2nd Dec, 2025, with a query whether it is logistically possible to conduct exam on 7th Dec, by incorporating modifications in eligibility criteria at such a belated stage,” it said.

The LG said the advertisement notice for the examination was published on 22.08.2025. “The exam was notified to be conducted on 07.12.2025 through a notice on 06.11.2025,” he said.

The clarification comes amid widespread confusion and misinformation being circulated online, raising concerns among aspirants regarding eligibility criteria and age relaxation provisions.

The Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination is scheduled to be conducted by the JKPSC as part of the recruitment process for various administrative posts in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNO)
