DC Kishtwar reviews Pulse Polio immunization preparedness

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma Monday chaired a District Level Task Force meeting to review and finalize preparedness for the Pulse Polio Immunization Drive, scheduled to be held from Dec 21 to Dec 23, 2025 across the district.

At the outset, the DC, as per an official statement, assessment the arrangements and issued a series of directions to the HODs of the line departments to ensure well-coordinated execution of the campaign.

The DC directed the CDPOs to work in close coordination with BMOs and deploy Anganwadi Workers in municipal areas where ASHA workers are not available, ensuring that no booth remains unmanned.

The ARTO was asked to establish polio booths at major locations including Bus Stand Kishtwar, Gulabgarh (Paddar) & Chatroo and initiate awareness activities among transporters and drivers.

The ACD and CEO were directed to ensure timely arrangement of logistics in all parts of the district. The DC further emphasized that any shortage of manpower should be addressed with support from the Education Department.

The ALC was directed to intensify awareness among drivers and labourers at all power project sites to ensure universal immunization coverage.

The Municipal Council was directed to mobilize vehicle-mounted public announcements to raise community awareness about the Pulse Polio Campaign.

Additionally, the DC directed the District Information Officer (DIO) to implement effective communication strategies through electronic, print and social media platforms.

He also directed to train the staff engaged in the campaign and mobilize ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, school teachers, NGOs, religious leaders and community influencers for last-mile coverage.

The meeting was attended by CPO, Akhil Thakur; ACD,  Manoj Kumar; CDPO, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar; ALC, Mamta Sudarshan; ARTO, Tasleem Wani; CDPO, Nagseni Najeeb Latief; Chief Education Officer,  Sanjay Dogra,  Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Yudhvir Singh; Block Medical Officer, Dr. Anil Sharma, BMO Dachan, Dr. Sajad Hussain, BMO Paddar, Dr. Krishan Singh Katoch, besides other officers and concerned staff.
