KULGAM, DECEMBER 17: To promote safer roads and better health, the Motor Vehicles Department Kulgam held a medical camp cum road safety awareness programme at Laroo.
The initiative, as per an official statement, was conducted in collaboration with the Health Department, DIPR Kulgam, and SDRF Kulgam.
The camp aimed to sensitise the public about safe driving practices while offering free medical check-ups to attendees.
Officials sensitised attendees on the ‘Good Samaritan’ guidelines encouraging bystanders to help accident victims and provided technical tips for winter driving.
SDRF team added practical value to the event by conducting live demonstrations, showcasing first-aid techniques and emergency response drills to educate the gathering on life-saving measures during accidents.
Addressing the gathering, ARTO Kulgam, Dr Showkat Ahmad Bhat stressed the need for strict adherence to traffic rules to prevent mishaps, particularly during the upcoming winter season.
He highlighted the increased risks associated with winter commuting and urged drivers to exercise maximum caution.
The event witnessed the participation of MVD officials, including Inspectors, Traffic Assistants and other office staff along with the general public.
