BUDGAM, DECEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Saturday convened a comprehensive meeting to review and strategies the Youth Engagement and Empowerment Plan in the district.
The meeting focused on channelising youth energy towards recreational, sports, skill-based and constructive activities, besides intensifying awareness against drug abuse.
Addressing the officers, the DC stressed the need for coordinated and proactive efforts by all departments to meaningfully engage youth and safeguard them from social evils, particularly drugs. He advised the Police Department to strengthen drug awareness campaigns, counselling initiatives and community outreach programmes, especially at the grassroots level.
The DC directed all concerned officers to come up with concrete, innovative and future-oriented action plans for youth engagement, ensuring maximum participation across urban and rural areas. He underlined that sports, cultural activities, vocational training, awareness drives and employment-oriented programmes should be prioritised to positively shape the future of young generation.
The DC reiterated that youth empowerment remains a top priority of the district administration and called for inter-departmental synergy to translate plans into impactful outcomes on the ground.
The meeting was attended by CPO Budgam, all SDMs, CEO Budgam, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Budgam, Assistant Labour Commissioner Budgam, DSP Headquarter besides other concerned officers.
