KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 20: The Day-2 of the “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” – 5th Good Governance Week campaign was successfully conducted across all 13 blocks of District Kishtwar. The programme is observed every year around December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to bring government services closer to the people.

The main aim of the campaign, as per an official statement, is to solve public problems, improve services and ensure people-friendly governance at the village level.

Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, officers from different departments like RDD, Revenue, Health, AYUSH, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forest and Horticulture visited all blocks according to the schedule issued by the District Administration.

During the programme, officers listened to people’s issues and resolved many grievances on the spot. People were also informed about important government schemes such as PM Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Shram Yogi Maandhan, PM Kisan Maandhan, Mission YUVA, HADP, PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) and other welfare schemes.

Several on-the-spot services were provided to the public, including Ayushman Cards, Distribution of Marriage Certificates, Domicile Certificates and other revenue-related services.

The Forest Department also carried out plant distribution and plantation drives in different blocks including Atholi Block (Paddar), Nagni Block (Kishtwar) across the District.

An awareness-cum-free medicine distribution camp was organized by the Animal Husbandry Department Kishtwar at Village Karthie, Panchayat Jar, where farmers were informed about welfare schemes of the Animal Husbandry Department.

During the “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” programme at Nagseni Block, an applicant raised a grievance regarding the non-availability of 200 mushroom cultivation bags for livelihood support. The issue was immediately taken up by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Kishtwar (nominated Nodal Officer by the District Administration) and after verification, the grievance was resolved on the spot, with the assurance to supply required mushroom bags.

The programmes were presided over by DFO Marwah, Vishal Chaudhary at the Tehsil Office Marwah, ExEn PWD (R&B) Kishtwar, Ravinder Verma at HSS Bounjwah, BDO Palmar, Rajesh Padha at the Block Headquarters Palmar, I/C CMO Kishtwar, Dr. Yudhvir Singh Kotwal at Panchayat Office Dharbadan, Thakrie, Functional Manager DIC at Panchayat Bhatan, Nagseni and other nominated officers at remaining block headquarters across the district.
