Former IAS Officer Masood Hassan Samoon, DC Bandipora emphasise transparency, innovation in governance
BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 23: As part of Good Governance Week under the initiative “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore,” a District-Level Good Governance Workshop was held Tuesday at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
The workshop, as per an official statement, aimed at sharing best practices, success stories, and innovative, citizen-centric initiatives undertaken by various departments to strengthen transparent and responsive governance.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, highlighted the significant contribution of the Samoon family to public service and noted that Masood Hassan Samoon has served the administration in diverse capacities.
She emphasized that public service goes beyond routine responsibilities and requires creativity, innovation, and a genuine commitment to society.
In his address, Former IAS Officer Masood Hassan Samoon, spoke on the evolution of governance, citing historical examples of people-centric administration. He observed that while e-governance and digital tools have made service delivery more efficient, they also present new challenges. He stressed that honesty, coupled with good intent, remains fundamental to effective and ethical public service.
The workshop featured documentary presentations showcasing departmental initiatives and beneficiary success stories, highlighting the impact of various government schemes at the grassroots level.
Beneficiaries from NRLM, Animal Husbandry under HADP, Sheep Husbandry Department Bandipora under HADP, Cooperative Societies, and other sectors shared their experiences, motivating unemployed youth to avail opportunities under government welfare and livelihood schemes.
Among others, the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; Chief Planning Officer Bandipora; Assistant Commissioner Planning Bandipora; Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Bandipora, beneficiaries, and other concerned officers.
