ACB files chargesheet against businessman for bribing SP City South Jammu

Srinagar, Dec 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet for allegedly offering a bribe of Rs: 30,000 to the Superintendent of Police, City South Jammu.

Officials said the bribe was allegedly offered in exchange for extending the date of an exhibition-cum-sale at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

According to a statement, ACB said that on 24-12-2025, Jammu & Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau produced charge-sheet in case FIR No. 01/2024 u/s 8 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu against Chander Sekhar Vohra, Proprietor of M/s Asian Associates, for offering bribe to the Superintendent of Police, City South, Jammu, for seeking undue favour in connection with extending the date of exhibition cum sale at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

The statement reads, the instant case came to be registered at PS ACB Jammu, upon the receipt of a  written complaint lodged by the then Superintendent of Police, City South, Jammu, alleging therein that the above named individual approached her to seek undue favour in connection with the extension of the exhibition date for the exhibition cum sale at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and tried to bribe her by offering bribe amount of ₹30,000 for doing the needful. During the course of investigation, a team was constituted and the accused, namely,  Sekhar Vohra, Proprietor of M/s Asian Associates, was caught on spot, in the office of SP City south, Jammu, for offering bribe of ₹30,000 to her for seeking undue favour. The bribe money was also recovered and seized on spot in presence of independent witnesses.

It reads, after the completion of investigation of the case as Proved, charge-sheet has been produced against the said accused in the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu on 24-12-2025 for judicial determination—(KNO)
