BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 25: District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Mission Vatsalya Bandipora Thursday organized a comprehensive “Child Marriage Free Bharat” signature campaign in Bandipora with the objective of raising awareness and strengthening collective commitment to eliminate the social evil of child marriage.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from a wide cross-section of society, reflecting strong community resolve toward safeguarding child Rights and well-being.
Officials from various Government departments, representatives of the District Legal Services Authority (DALSA), lawyers, students, young women achievers, media persons, and NGO actively participated in the event.
The diverse participation highlighted the importance of a multi-stakeholder approach in addressing child marriage and promoting child Rights.
During the campaign, participants signed a pledge banner symbolizing their commitment to prevent child marriage and to spread awareness about its harmful physical, psychological, social, and legal consequences.
The event served as a platform to sensitize the public about existing laws, including the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, and the role of institutions in reporting and preventing such practices.
